Summer in Kobe: Day 3

Not much can beat those fireworks, eh?
その花火って最高で、勝てる物がないでしょうね？

Well, we were also beat by said fireworks, so the third day was just some eating and shopping before I left to go back to Tokushima.
私たちも花火に「やられた」から、三日目は、徳島に戻る前、ゆっくりと食事したりショッピングしたりすることだけだったんだ。


Remember that omuraisu place? Well we went there for lunch! The place is called "Pomme no Ki," I believe.
あのオムライスの店って、覚えているかな？昼ご飯に、そこに行ったんだ。「ポムノキ」って名前だった思う。

It was really cute inside.

Shots of the menu. That kind of dessert, a milk base with fruit and red beans on top, is popularly called "Shiro Kuma", meaning "white bear," what we usually call polar bears.

I went for the bacon salad option, with curry-flavored rice. I enjoyed the curry rice more than I expected to. It was a very gentle, well-rounded flavor, not heavily spiced with cumin. I actually dislike cumin, so why I ever eat curry is a mystery. 

私は、ベーコンサラダとカレー味のライスにした。カレーの味は、意外と美味しかったよ。やわらくて、丸谷かで、キューミンの影響は強すぎなかったんだ。実は、キューミンが好きじゃないので、どうしてカレーを食べるかは、なんか、謎のようだ。

On the way to the fireworks the day before, I had noticed a shop selling really nice hair pieces. So, we went back to maybe actually buy something. I chose these two numbers. The pink on is for my sister Mindi, and the brown one I got for myself. 

前日、花火のところに行きながら、いい髪飾りの売っているみせを見かけたことだったから、何か買おうと思って、また行った。結局買ったのは、この二つだ。ピンクのは姉のMindiにあげるんで、茶色のは私が欲しかったの。
