Mindi in Osaka, Round Two, Day Three

So, the last post about our November trip to Osaka. We had decided we wanted to try bowling and/or karaoke on our last day. We figured we could do a bit of both, have some curry for lunch and try the parfait shop we'd discovered the day before, and then head over to Osaka station to catch our bus home. The bus was at 3:30 p.m., and we'd gotten started probably around 8 or 9. Sounds like plenty of time, right? Right? ((Hint: no.))

では、十一月の大阪への旅の最後のポストです。その最後の日、カラオケとか、ボーリングをしようと思っていた。両表やってみて、昼にカレーを食べて、前日見つけたパフェの店も食べてみてから、帰るバスに間に合えるだろうと思った。バスは、３時３０分出発で、ホテルを出た時は、８時か９時だったかな。ゆっくりでいけそうでしょう？でしょうね？（（ヒント：ちゃう。））

This building is a "Round 1", a chain of entertainment establishments with bowling, karaoke, pachinko, and so on. We headed here first.

ここは、Round 1っていうエンタテイメントの店。ボーリング、カラオケ、パチンコなどある。先にここに来た。

We ultimately decided to do karaoke and skip the bowling. Though next time, we must try the bowling.

結局、ボーリングと飛ばして、カラオケだけすることにした。でもね、絶対今度、ボーリングするよ。

The setup was comfortable and highly swanky. Also they appeared to have a lot of tempting foodstuffs you could order, but we refrained as we had intentions of lunch after.

部屋がよくて、ハイテックだった。メニューには、色々な美味しそうな食べ物が映してたけど、昼の予定があったから、遠慮しちゃった。

Aannd.... This is where things got messy. See, we spent an extra hour more than we had originally planned at karaoke. No big deal, we had lots of wiggle room. Then, I thought maybe we should just skip curry and go for parfaits to ensure that we had enough time to order, receive and enjoy them. Well it turns out Osaka's circuitous and maze-like nature didn't like that idea. We wandered, and searched, and wandered some more, getting progressively more and more frustrated and time-crunched. We'd just stumbled across this place the day before and now it was NOWHERE to be found! We were beyond irritated and tired after wasting more than an hour searching.

それで。。。色々あった。カラオケではね、最初に決めたより、一時間過ごしたんだ。でも、時間がたくさんあって、問題じゃないでしょうって思った。それでも、一様に、カレー食べずに、さっさとパフェと食べに行ったらいいのかもと思った。そうしたら、食べたりリラックスしたりできるだろうって。やっぱり、迷路みたいな大阪が反対のようだった。ぐるぐる歩いたり、探したりしながら、ドンドン悔しくなって、時間も少なくなっていたんだ。前の日そんなに簡単に見つけたのに、どこにもなかった。一時間以上もたっていて、悔しくて堪らなかった。

Eventually, not really entertaining the idea of having time to eat there anymore but just determined to find the place, we asked at an information desk. The lady there didn't know the parfait place, but Mindi  happened to remember the name of a store that had been close to it that the woman DID know. From that desk, it was maybe a 5-minute walk and voila. Parfaits. We sat down to some creamy goodness in victory and also because we were sweaty and tired (we'd literally been running around trying to find it.)

そこで食べるのは、もういいけど、ただ見つけたいだけと思って、受け付けで聞いてみた。そこの人が、パフェショップの名前を聞いたことがなかったけど、ミンディが思い出した近くの店のことはご存知だった！その受け付けから、５分以内に歩いていって、着いた。クリーミー感を美味しく味わいに、入った。すごく汗をかけて、疲れてた。（その店を探して、本当にはしって行ったり来たりしたんだ。）

And a closer look. It was delicious; even more so because we hadn't expected to actually get anything.

もっと詳しく見える写真。もうパフェを食べるのがダメだろうと先まで思ってたから、さらに美味しかった。

There was a spectacular fountain/plaza area right outside the parfait shop. I made sure to take a bunch of pictures of it while we were there.

店のすぐ近くに、すばらしい広場があって、色々な写真撮ったよね。

 

So then we had to haul ass back to the hotel, discovering a much more convenient route, en-route. I'm pretty sure it was because we took this same route back to the station after getting our luggage that we made the bus in time. With like, 3 minutes to spare. We had this feeling of exhilaration, having managed to beat the clock. Then we settled in to a comfy 2.5 hour bus ride back to Tokushima. 

そして、荷物を取りにホテルに急いで行った。ついでに、近道を見つけた。帰るバスを間に合ったのは、大阪バスターミナルまでその近道のかげだった。 出発の三分ほど前に。邪魔に勝ってすごく盛り上がったんだ。そして、ゆっくりで次の２時半をすごしたんだ。
