April showers bring...

...The last part being, "May flowers." In Japanese, it means that rain in April causes the flowers to bloom in May. I'm jumping the gun a little, as April just started, but I couldn't resist showing off the beautiful foliage around here. I'm pretty sure people everywhere await the flowers of spring with great anticipation. I'm hardly an exception.

So, over the past three-day weekend, of which there have been few lately, I went out and snapped shots of all the different flowers I could find. The most famous and well-known flower in Japan is the sakura (cherry tree) blossom. But before I show you those, let me show you some images of the other varieties of flowers I ran across.

And then, it was the star of the show's turn. The sakura blossom, ladies n' gents!

Aren't they gorgeous? They wilt and fall away in the blink of an eye, it seems. So, I made sure to go take pictures while I could!

 Ja, mata ne!
